Ever since the launch of Bard, Google’s AI chatbot, in March of 2023, Google has been scrambling to compete with other AI chatbots. Now, Bard can create code and assist users in debugging efforts in over 20 programming languages. However, users must be careful, as Bard’s efforts are not flawless. Paige Barely, a Group Product Manager at Google Research, states “Bard is still an early experiment, and may sometimes provide inaccurate, misleading, or false information while presenting it confidently. When it comes to coding, Bard may give you working code that doesn’t product the expected output, or provide you with code that is not optimal or incomplete”. However, this new innovation is certainly a step towards a more useful AI language model.
