Ford has announced plans to build an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing hub in Ontario, Canada. The new facility is set to create thousands of jobs and will be Ford’s first dedicated EV production site in North America. The hub is part of Ford’s $11.4 billion global investment in EVs, which aims to have 40% of the automaker’s global sales come from EVs by 2030. The new manufacturing hub is expected to produce around 300,000 electric vehicles per year and will be operational by 2025. The move comes as the auto industry is rapidly transitioning to EVs in response to tightening emissions regulations and consumer demand for cleaner, more sustainable vehicles.
